Why Overwhelm = Procrastination

procrastination

Overwhelm will suck the life out of you…

But only if you let it. After all we are in the Information Age and the bad news is that overwhelm is here to stay. The Good News is that you get to choose whether you give in to its nasty embrace or not. Become conscious of the jaws of this focus killer and manage your activities with a focused intensity to complete the task at hand.

Refuse to succumb to the beast.

Results that suck are no laughing matter… but humour is often the best way to make a point that will be remembered because it evokes an emotional response to the message that will be remain embedded in our minds long after the fact.

I know you’ll get the lesson here, but the Dad in me kicks in and I want to reinforce this anyway.

REMEMBER while you’re watching this… DO NOT get distracted and start clicking around on the YouTube links and ending up on 13 different web sites and not knowing where they heck you were in the first place… you’re in a “black hole” in another galaxy and can’t find your way home…

This is hilarious. Watch it now, before you get sidetracked. It’s only one minute…

Now, of course, that’s not you… right?

If you really think about it… focus is the key ingredient to success… and distraction is the nemesis or the devil in disguise if you prefer.

Distraction bombards us from all sides every waking minute of the day. And most of us just go with it without deciding to take control. We become overwhelmed to the point we don’t know what to do or where to begin, so we do nothing.

Confused and caught in the quicksand of procrastination we spiral downward, out of control and are doomed for failure. Unless we have a system to deal with it and refocus our efforts to succeed.

You ever feel this way? What did you do to overcome the overwhelm and procrastination? How’s that working for you now?
